Source: City of Lakeway, TX News Flash: March 2, 2021 Update: Governor Abbott gave an update this afternoon on the COVID-19 response from a restaurant in Lubbock, Texas. He indicated vaccinations have increased and the positivity rate has decreased recently. Due to these improvements, Governor Abbott announced he will be rescinding some restrictions put in place due to COVID-19.
Beginning next Wednesday (March 10, 2021), all businesses of any type can open to a 100% capacity. The statewide mask mandate will also be rescinded next Wednesday. While the state restrictions will no longer be in place the middle of next week, it’s still encouraged for everyone to practice their own safety protocols to keep others safe including social/physical distancing and wearing a mask around others when appropriate.
If COVID-19 hospitalizations rise above 15% for seven days straight in our region, the county judge can put in place further COVID-19 restrictions.
